One bowl features white on red, and the other red on white, created as a matching pair. Each bowl is glazed by hand using Julie Ann’s signature red and white speckle, with a white interior that looks like confetti frosting. No two sets are exactly alike.

The Artist Behind the Bowls
The bowls are handcrafted by Haley Varys, the artist behind Haley + Hazel, a Woodstock-based ceramic studio. Inspired by nature, color, and the joy of making things by hand, Haley creates playful, functional pieces meant to bring warmth to everyday moments.
Haley is an active member of the Clay Workers Guild of Illinois and holds a Master’s degree in Community Arts Education. Her work is deeply rooted in craftsmanship, creativity, and community, making this collaboration a natural fit with Julie Ann’s.

Every pie and cake starts with fresh frozen custard made in our specialty custard machine, featuring a long stainless steel barrel designed to create an extra-dense and creamy texture. Each dessert is then placed in our hard-working hardening cabinets, held at –30 degrees, to lock in every layer and deliver a remarkably fresh, smooth texture you won’t find anywhere else.
