Julie Ann’s Frozen Custard is excited to share a limited Valentine’s Day collaboration with Haley + Hazel, a Woodstock, Illinois-based ceramic studio led by artist Haley Varys. Together, we created a gift that brings together handmade art, local love, and frozen custard.

This Valentine’s set is designed for a dessert date you can enjoy together.
Each set includes:
- Two pints of Julie Ann’s Frozen Custard
- Two limited-edition, hand-glazed ceramic bowls
One bowl is white on red, and the other is red on white, made to complement each other just like the people sharing them.
The glaze features Julie Ann’s signature red and white speckle, with the white interior resembling confetti frosting. Every bowl is glazed by hand, making each set one of a kind.

Meet the Artist: Haley + Hazel
A Woodstock native and lifelong maker, Haley Varys is the heart and hands behind Haley + Hazel. Her work spans wheel-thrown pottery, crochet, and mixed media, creating pieces that are both beautiful and functional.
Inspired by nature and the joy of making things by hand, Haley is drawn to color, texture, and pattern. Her style blends nostalgic touches with modern design, resulting in playful, meaningful pieces made to be used every day.
This collaboration was a joyful opportunity to merge Haley’s creative style with a beloved local institution. The bowls honor Julie Ann’s iconic look while bringing Haley’s signature warmth and creativity into every detail.
A Gift Rooted in Community
Haley is an active member of the Clay Workers Guild of Illinois, a long-standing organization rooted in Woodstock that supports ceramic artists and fosters creative education. The Guild’s shop, Artisan’s on Main, serves as a hub for the local clay community and showcases the work of its members.
With a Master’s degree in Community Arts Education, Haley is passionate about making art accessible and community-centered. That shared value of craftsmanship and connection is what made this collaboration feel like such a natural fit.
